“Your soft breath helps to soften your body releasing your inner strength.”

Jane Woolner

participating in my online classes helps to refresh your body, and feel better about yourself.

The classes on offer are based very loosely on the Ashtanga system, made accessible for the majority of bodies. Variations and adaptations of the asanas are suggested during the classes and using props is encouraged.

Yoga is for every-body and I would love to help you find the confidence you need to get to know your body with compassion and devotion.

Testimonials

I have been doing yoga with Jane since October 2020, unemployed and in the middle of another lockdown in Paris. Morale was not high is an underestimation. Jane’s yoga classes brought me out from a dark place and made me feel energised, healthier, and stronger within myself and my ability to deal with my days. I love Jane’s classes and could not recommend her as a teacher more highly. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.

My work is mainly long hours working at a desk.  Consequently, I have had back and neck problems for most of my adult life. Regular yoga sessions with Jane has increased my flexibility, upper body strength and kept the pain and stiffness at bay.  It is also important for me to have a regular time to switch off, relax and focus on the moment.

I am so pleased to have found Jane’s yoga sessions.

It’s been a life saver for me during Lockdown, I was widowed before lockdown, and new to yoga. I now look forward to it each Saturday morning.

My sleeping pattern became disrupted after my husband passed and doing the sessions with Jane has helped my breathing and got me back to sleeping.

I am less tense and feel very sleepy after each session.

Jane comes across as very confident and a competent instructor.

My experience of Jane’s yoga sessions have been phenomenal.  Her carefully curated one to one work with me has provided some deep seated relief- where my body had become numb to sedentary working and constant low ebb stress of the pandemic- I can say I genuinely felt a deep sense of relief as a result of my work with her.  In Jane’s focused and gentle delivery- I felt like I could really deepen into the postures- both physically and emotionally.  Jane’s years of knowledge, wrapped into the very magical way she holds herself allows me to have a positive experience of yoga, and all that it offers, physically, emotionally and spiritually.  I would recommend Jane’s work to all of my colleagues, friends and family- and send blessings to every success in her work.

A deep relaxation after each class is recommended, allowing your body time to absorb the benefits of the stretch and the purification process.

About Jane

“Soften your breath, to soften your body to build your strength.’”

Starting as a young seed to one that has evolved and transformed over the years; yoga for me is a treasure: a transformative practice and journey with your breath that leads to deep healing and inner strength.

My first forays into yoga were through the encouragement of a childhood friends’ mother. Two young girls sitting in a class, stifling giggles as we made shapes and downward dogs, my yoga seed had been planted. I am forever thankful and grateful for that first introduction to yoga.

Later in life, a cautious return to a practice of yoga, I found dedicated teachers who would help to germinate and nourish my original seed.

13th March 1999; now a significant date regarding my yoga practice. This is the life-changing day when I walked into my first Ashtanga and Vinyasa class with Jennifer Dale and Sabel Thiam at Brockwell Lido in Brixton, South London.

The Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga system is the connection of breath to movement, movement to stillness and focus points, with the Vinyasa linking the seated asanas (physical postures).

From my original teachers, Jenny and Sabel, I have also been taught by a variety of wise and dedicated practitioners including John Scott, Dena Kingsburg, and Hamish Hendry. I now practice at the Shala studio in South London under the tutelage of Gingi Lee, the teacher of Jenny and Sabel, my teachers’ teacher is now my teacher.

Completing my first 200-hour teacher training course during the numerous Covid19 lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 at the Shala under the combined tutoring of Gingi Lee and Cath Roberts has ensured the fruits of over twenty years of practice will be harvested for the benefit of others.  I look forward to not only the continual development of my own practice but advance a teaching practice with the seesaw effect of one enriching the other.
